Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2025 University of London SOAS
Hyundai Motor Group is offering five scholarships for African students to pursue master’s or PhD studies at SOAS University of London. This scholarship aims to support future leaders in Africa by providing full tuition coverage and a stipend. Master’s students will receive £27,730, while PhD students will have their tuition covered for up to four years with an annual stipend of £22,780.

The study award is open to African nationals who live in Africa and are classified as international fee-paying students. Applicants must be new students starting their studies in the 2025/26 academic year. Master’s applicants should have a first-class or strong upper-second-class degree, while PhD applicants should have a master’s degree with distinction.

Eligibility
- Eligible Countries: Open to nationals of African countries who are ordinarily resident in Africa.
- Acceptable Course or Subjects:
- The scholarship will be awarded for any full-time, one-year master’s degree or a full-time research degree programme at SOAS University of London.
- Preference is given to students applying to the College of Development Studies, Economics and Finance, and the College of Law, Anthropology and Politics.
- Part-time and two-year master’s courses are not eligible.
- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be classified as an international fee-paying student.
- Be a new applicant for the 2025/26 academic year.
- For Master’s applicants: Hold (or expect to hold) an international equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree. Applicants with a 2:1 may apply but will not be given preference.
- For PhD applicants: Hold (or expect to hold) an international equivalent of a UK master’s degree with distinction. Applicants with a merit may apply but will not be given preference.
- Have applied to SOAS University of London before the scholarship deadline. However, receiving an offer of admission is not required at the time of application but must be secured before the selection panel meets.
- Meet the English language proficiency requirements of SOAS (if applicable).
How to Apply
Step 1: Apply for admission to SOAS University of London.
- For master’s degrees: Submit an application via Taught Masters applications.
For PhD programmes: Submit an application via the Doctoral School.
Step 2: Apply for the Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship by completing the online scholarship application form before 12:00pm (midday) UK time on 25 April 2025.
